August 31, 1844: 20 persons established The Second Congregational Society of the township of Wakeman. Services were held in a school.

1845: The first meeting house was built.

January 1, 1879: 1,400 people attended the dedication of our new church, which local craftsmen had built, cutting hardwood timber, making their own bricks and fashioning stone.

1883: A unique Hook and Hastings pipe organ was installed. We use this organ today in our worship services.

November 15, 1960: Our congregation voted to become a member of the United Church of Christ. Our name changed to The Wakeman Congregational Church, United Church of Christ.

1990's: We purchased a modern, ranch-style home for our parsonage. Our church kitchen was modernized. We added a wheelchair ramp.

Today: We continue the legacy of our church, serving the Lord through worship and deed.
